This is a unique facility created in partnership with the National Park Service and Roanoke County. The BRPVC serves as the gateway and information center for the Roanoke region and for the Virginia stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway, the second most visited park in the National Park Service system. Its primary goal is to educate travelers about offerings in the region and the state. Knowledgeable staff are available to assist visitors and provide access to hundreds of flyers and maps for area attractions. In addition, the center offers two exhibit galleries featuring the history of the Blue Ridge Parkway and how the Roanoke region was settled; a theater with a film about the Blue Ridge Parkway; and a gift shop featuring regional and parkway items. The center is open May through October.
