  2. Life in a Log (Ages 5+)

    Trees that look like they are no longer growing are still a very important asset to the forest. Find out what lives and grows in, on, and under seemingly dead trees. We’ll look closely at standing trees called snags and carefully roll and examine life in and under downed trees. You’ll be able to study our finds with magnifiers and observe animal's adapted bodies and plant structure as well as learn about their life cycles. Find out what makes these fascinating animals and plants so important to the forest. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring a water bottle. Children must be accompanied by a registered/paid adult.
