    Try one of the most innovative and safe cardiovascular programs around. It let’s you bop to the beat without jarring your joints and is a great workout for men and women of all ages and fitness levels. It will pump your heart, lubricate your joints, release tension and enhance your balance. Nia uses gentle yet powerful movements that blend dance with martial arts, yoga and other techniques.   6. Acrylics (Ages 18+)

    Working in acrylics allows for maximum flexibility in color, ideas and techniques. This medium can be used like watercolor or oils. Acrylic paint drys quickly and when dry is permanent. Learn techniques through demonstration and classroom practice using glazes, knife work, texture, composition tips as well as many other methods. Working in acrylics are stress free because of the flexibility allowing for your work to evolve and advance! This class will be intriguing and fun for artists at all skill levels. First canvas is included in cost! Supply list is given at the time of registration. Six week program. Instructor: Michael Farrar.

  7. Marbleized Paper and Mono-Printmaking (Ages 18+)

    August 6, 2019, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Brambleton Center

    Week one students will have fun using oil paint mixed with paint thinner to create interesting patterns on paper. Resulting pieces can be used for notecards, book binding, origami or any creative endeavor you imagine. Printmaking will be the focus of the final five weeks. Monoprint is a combination of painting and printmaking using plexiglass and oil paints. New techniques will be offered each week. Week two-plant materials (leaves flower pedals, etc.), stencils and a press, week three-paint, paint thinner, brushes, q-tips, and rolling pins for pressure, week four-painting scene on plexiglass plate-paper and rolling pins, week five combination of week 2 to 4 and week six double painting.   8. Resolution Ride (Ages 18+)

    Pedal your way into summer at the Brambleton Center! Bring your fitness goals, hop on a bike and make a move towards better health. This specially designed class will provide benchmarks and target heart rate, RPM and energy output goals for each ride. Work alongside an energetic instructor and fellow cyclists in a fun cardio class that pairs your bike with a fitness system to track your statistics with each pedal you push. You can even have statistics sent to your phone, so that you can track your progress from the first class to the last class. Come in with fitness goals and leave with results! You never have to arrive early – bikes are selected and guaranteed for the entirety of the class. 6 week course. Instructor: Beth Hoel.

  9. Pottery (Ages 18+)

    The Brambleton Center offers a well equipped studio to create original works of clay in both wheel and freeform. Equipment includes 13 electric wheels, a slab roller, and an assortment of tools and accessories for shaping and sculpting the clay. A variety of glazes are mixed in the studio offering about 23 colors. Class fee also includes utilizing the studio on your own during select times when classes aren't in session and the firing of pieces made during the 10 week term. Clay must be purchased through Brambleton Center at $25/25 pounds. Saturday will be an open workshop opportunity for those currently registered in a Pottery class. All pottery classes are ten week programs.

  10. Watercolor (Ages 18+)

    Enjoy a simplified step-by-step process while you learn to express yourself through watercolors. This class for the beginning student includes techniques such as wet paint on dry paper, wet into wet, lost edges, color glazing, color mixing, palette layout and different brush techniques. Sound composition in both still lives and landscapes will also be covered. Supply list is given at time of registration. First sheet of paper included in cost! Six week program.   1. Mountain Biking 101 (ages 13+)

    August 6, 2019, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ Explore Park

    Leave the asphalt behind and let us get you in gear for the trails. Learn the basics of mountain biking with an International Mountain Bike Association certified instructor. They will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to get out there on your own. Our guides also provide plenty of information on the best local trails and rides suited for your ability, which is helpful for anyone new to the sport. No experience necessary. Mountain bikes, helmets, and all instruction provided. Course will meet at the baseball field parking lot in Green Hill Park.

  1. Adult Ballet (Ages 16+)

    July 8, 2019, 7:30 PM - August 12, 2019, 8:30 PM @ Green Ridge Recreation Center

    This is a beginning level ballet class comprised of a 30 minute barre featuring exercises to warm-up feet, legs, and arms. This is followed by 30 minutes of center work and traveling combinations to work on balance, coordination, and flexibility. Participants may wear tights, leggings, sweatpants, and either a leotard or sports top. Ballet slippers are recommended. Instructor Beth Brunelle.

  2. Beginner Obedience & Good Manners (Ages 18+)

    Want a dog who listens better? In this basic training course, dog parents will learn how to best communicate with their dogs in order to teach them good manners. Positive reinforcement training methods are used to teach the following behaviors: touch, look, sit, down, stand, come, settle, wait, take it, loose-leash walking, plus more. Other topics include parent separation, agility exercises, impulse control, and canine communication. Dogs must complete either Puppy Kindergarten or be at least 6 months old. Six week course taught by High Hopes Dog Training.

  3. Intermediate Obedience & Problem Solving (Ages 18+)

    Now that your dog has learned some good manners, the next step is to apply those manners to real life situations while addressing common behavior problems like jumping on guests, door-dashing, pulling on the leash, not coming when called, etc. Behaviors taught include stay, place, leave it, heel, touch tag, and more. Dogs will be taught to respond to both verbal and non-verbal cues. Prerequisite: Graduation from our Beginner Obedience course or permission from High Hopes.

Summer Camps Calendar

  1. Green Ridge Summer Day Camp

    May 28, 2019, 7:30 AM - August 8, 2019, 6:00 PM @ Green Ridge Recreation Center

    There’s no way your kids will be bored this summer, when they sign up for full day camp at Green Ridge! This program combines the ‘healthy fun’ of Green Ridge Recreation Center and Splash Valley Water Park, with the excitement of organized activities from our experienced staff. Your camper’s week will be filled with arts, crafts, sports, games, swimming at Splash Valley and indoor pool, field trips and more. All activities and two daily snacks are included in the weekly fee. Campers must pack a daily lunch, swimsuit, towel and athletic shoes. A $25 per week deposit is due at time of registration and the remaining balance will be scheduled through automatic draft of your bank card. Green Ridge members receive an additional discount per week. Participants must be RISING Kindergarteners. Sign up for all 11 full weeks of enrichment, or simply select the weeks you need. Camp will not meet May 27, July 4 and August 9.

    You can’t gallop until you learn to trot. Get started on the right hoof with the equine experts at Explore Park’s Niagara Ranch, operated by Reba Farm. Saddle up for a week of adventures on horseback, with no previous experience needed. the mechanics of horsemanship - both physically and behaviorally. Good for anyone who wants to really work with, ride, and understand horses. Work with different horses and breeds daily while learning life’s lessons from a 1000 pound teammate. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. Helmets and tack are included. Half-day programs focus on grooming, feeding and educational experiences with limited riding for short periods. Full-day participants will experience complete western style horseback riding lessons, featuring multiple riding sessions per day. Please bring a bagged lunch.
