  5. Intermediate Obedience & Problem Solving (Ages 18+)

    Now that your dog has learned some good manners, the next step is to apply those manners to real life situations while addressing common behavior problems like jumping on guests, door-dashing, pulling on the leash, not coming when called, etc. Behaviors taught include stay, place, leave it, heel, touch tag, and more. Dogs will be taught to respond to both verbal and non-verbal cues. Prerequisite: Graduation from our Beginner Obedience course or permission from High Hopes.

  7. Beginner Obedience & Good Manners (Ages 18+)

    Want a dog who listens better? In this basic training course, dog parents will learn how to best communicate with their dogs in order to teach them good manners. Positive reinforcement training methods are used to teach the following behaviors: touch, look, sit, down, stand, come, settle, wait, take it, loose-leash walking, plus more. Other topics include parent separation, agility exercises, impulse control, and canine communication. Dogs must complete either Puppy Kindergarten or be at least 6 months old. Six week course taught by High Hopes Dog Training.

  8. New: Resin Art- DIY Coasters (Ages 16+)

    In this resin pouring art workshop, you will get to create your own set of four coasters! If you are a first timer or resin pouring pro, it makes no difference because this class is for all skill levels! Be sure to wear clothes you don't mind saying goodbye to, as this class is sure to be a bit messy. Closed toed shoes are also required.     The single most important (and fun) thing you can do for your puppy? Puppy Kindergarten!! For puppies between 10-24 weeks old, socialization with other puppies and people is crucial in order to help them become social, well-balanced dogs. While making lots of friends during off-leash playtime, your puppy will gain confidence by participating in activities and learning basic commands. Discussions for puppy parents include puppy development, house-training, destructive chewing, and play-biting. Six week course taught by High Hopes Dog Training.

  2. NEW: Dry Hollow Holler! Short Track MTB Race

    Close out the year with 20 minutes of intense short track mountain bike racing at the inaugural Dry Hollow Holler at Camp Roanoke! Providing a great introduction to racing for novice riders and an opportunity to maintain late-season fitness for more serious racers, the short track format is an ideal way for anyone to enjoy a fun experience on a bike! While a mountain bike will be the ideal raceday choice for most riders, more confident racers can likely ride the course on any bike with tires 38mm or wider. Racers should expect course conditions to include rocks, roots, open fields, and mud! Registration fees are $20 until raceday and $25 on the day of the race. Raceday registration will be available from 8:30 am to 9:30 am, with the first race starting at 10:00 am.

    Your child will learn developmentally appropriate basics of ballet, tap, acrobatics, and creative movement, while learning numbers, colors, shapes, words and songs. There is an annual sign-up fee for Kinderdance® of $30 to be paid each year upon starting classes. Choose the fee with $30 added to it to pay your sign-up fee when first registering on or after September 2019. Each month following, you will no longer need to pay the sign-up fee. Instruction provided by Kinderdance® staff. All dancers will be given their class uniform and proper footwear on the first day of class.

    ust like you find at a craft show or on Etsy-create your own Snowman hat. Hat size pattern may vary between newborn to adult. You will need 2 small black buttons, a small skein of worsted weight (4) in white and color of your choice for top of snowman(make sure yarn is same brand). A 5 mm hook will be needed as well. Prior experience crocheting recommended-advanced beginner class. You will be notified when class meets minimum so you can purchase supplies. Instructor Krislyn Colombini is a self-taught crocheter that now sells her crochet creations online and in shows. She will help you work through difficult issues in a small class setting.
