Description:

Located behind Penn Forest Elementary School, Darrell Shell features some of the County's premiere softball and tennis facilities as well as a half mile gravel loop trail that circles the park and is perfect for an early morning or late evening walk. From the parking lot to the left of the school, follow the gravel trail leading into the park. A restroom area is located near the parking lot. As in all County parks, dogs must be on a leash at all times and owners are asked to pick up after their four-legged friends. Please note the nearby playground is located on Penn Forest Elementary School property and not available for use while school is in session. 

Directions:

From Route 419, turn onto Starkey Road. Bear right as road merges with Buck Mountain Road. Turn right at end of street onto Merriman Road. Penn Forest Elementary is less than 1/4 mile on right. Park at the far side of the school to reach entrance.
