Be part of an excellent aquatics team at Green Ridge Recreation Center. This is an intensive lifeguarding class that teaches high protection standards to enable you to prevent guests from catastrophic injury or drowning. The Ellis program gives lifeguards the skills and technical knowledge to become an effective member of an aquatics emergency response team. Upon competition of the course participants are eligible for employment at Green Ridge Recreation Center and Splash Valley Water Park during the summer. Pre-registration is required. Prerequisite: Must be 15 years old to register. Must swim 100 yards, retrieve a brick from a depth of 10 feet and tread water for one minute. Classes are Thursday and Friday 4:30-9:30, Saturday (at a deep water facility) 8:00-2:00 and Sunday 8:00-2:00. You must complete an online class prior to the first class.
