National Public Lands Day Volunteer Work Day (Saturday, September 17th)

Looking to join trail enthusiasts and give back to Explore Park's mountain bike trails? Join us on Saturday, September 17th as we celebrate National Public Lands Day with a Volunteer Trail Work Day at Explore Park! Volunteers will be rerouting a section of mountain bike trail between Chestnut Ridge Road and the Blue Ridge Bike Center. 

Participants must register in advance and don't forget to dress appropriately for the weather with sturdy footwear. No previous trail building experience is needed to volunteer!


Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Click here to register as an individual or group. (Lunch will be provided)


Meet at the RV Parking Lot across from the Visitor Center at Explore Park. The work day will take place along the Chestnut Mountain Bike Trail at two work sites: 

  • Chestnut Trail
  • Blue Ridge Bike Center.

Things to Know

  • Registration - The work day is a free event, but we ask that you register in advance so we can plan accordingly! Click here to register!
  • Dress appropriately - Wear long pants and sturdy shoes
  • Tools, lunch and t-shirts will be provided by our volunteer coordinators
    • T-Shirts provided for volunteers. Shirt sizes will be collected on your registration form.
