Horseback Trail Ride - Giving Thanks
Friday, November 23 at 1:00PM - Reba Farm $42 Experience real world riding instruction from the very best! This 1.5 hour excursion will take place at Reba Farm in Bedford County. Enjoy a memorable and scenic ride with western style riding instruction. No experience needed! This event will feature a special Thanksgiving Day theme. Must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. Helmets, and tack included. Participants must provide their own transportation to Reba Farm.
Saturday, December 22 at 10:00AM - depart Green Ridge $42 Get into the spirit of the season with a trail ride through the scenic landscape surrounding at Reba Farm. Learn western style riding techniques while discovering the beauty of your surroundings, no experience necessary. Must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. Per person fee includes all helmets, tack, equipment supplies and food. Transportation is provided to and from Green Ridge Recreation Center for this course.
Saturday, February 23, 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM - depart Green Ridge $65 It's time to saddle up and experience the sights sounds of the local wildlife. Create and share homemade treats with some of the critters on a fun filled and scenic horseback trail ride. Following this, enjoy a delicious and hearty cowboy style meal at Reba Farm Inn's Bed and Breakfast. You'll then remount your horse and conclude the day with a ride back to the stables. No experience necessary. Transportation, dinner, helmets and all tack included. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. This trip meets at the Green Ridge and travels to Reba Farm's Bedford stables.
From the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center at Explore Park, take Chestnut Ridge Rd. to the service entrance intersection at Rutrough Rd. Turn right and travel 1.2 miles to Highland Rd. Turn right and travel under the parkway bridge, the ranch is visible on the right.
From downtown Roanoke and I-581, take Elm Ave. / Bullitt Ave 0.5 miles to intersection with 9th Street. Turn right and travel 1.1 miles to intersection with Riverland Rd. (SR 116)/ Turn left and travel 0.5 miles through a stoplight continue through a roundabout on the same road (bearing right). After the roundabout take a left onto Rutrough Rd (SR 658) and travel 2.7 miles. Turn left onto Highland Rd. (SR 618) and travel under the parkway bridge, the ranch is visible on the right.
