Roanoke Valley's network of greenways and trails are among the community's most cherished assets. The Roanoke Valley Greenway Commission was established through an intergovernmental agreement in 1997, and continues to guide the development and expansion of these resources. Roanoke County is actively involved in developing several greenway projects, especially the completion of the region's centerpiece, the Roanoke River Greenway. When completed this path will stretch over 30 miles from Green Hill Park to Explore Park. This page contains current information on key greenway segments within Roanoke County.
